Cash flow and profit are the most important numbers in any business.

While cash flow is about survival, being ready to grasp opportunities and planning, profit is the reason we are all in business. If it isn’t, then it should be.

‍Profit is the only number to focus on. If we aren’t in business to make profit (money), then a safe steady job is a much better, less stressful option.

The challenge that many businesses face when it comes to maximizing profit is figuring out where their profit is coming from. Too many of us focus on turnover. However, turnover is a glory number – It means nothing. Turnover is for show, profit is for dough.

If you don’t know what activities are driving your profits, if you don’t know where your profits are coming from. Worse yet, if you don’t know where you are making losses, you can’t improve or grow.
